Community Christian Church
A multi-year engagement with Community Christian Church (CCC) that started as a monthly subscription and shifted to per-project work in early 2025. Adam Hawkey on the executive side has been the main contact across postcards, Christmas mailers, kids ministry signage, sermon series graphics, and logo work.

Community Christian Church goes by CCC. Their tagline is "Helping people find their way back to God." Adam Hawkey is the Executive Minister and has been my main point of contact since the engagement started in 2024. Other staff have come in for specific tracks: Lisa Molite for C3 Kids signage, Michelle DiMarzio on the production side, Nick Blevins on the children's and student team. The relationship has gone through two phases. A monthly subscription through December 2024, then per-project work from 2025 onward.
How we started
The earliest project in my records is a Food Truck Sunday postcard reformat in August 2024, but the subscription was already running by then. Through fall 2024 we had a steady cadence. Office signage. Bathroom frames. A Corn Maze Night at Beachmont postcard with $10 ticket pricing tested and pulled. A full Christmas service invite mailer with a holiday-hatted dog photo. C3 Kids signs for the kids department, with sometimes-tricky printer requirements that needed vector format with cut lines.
In early December 2024, Adam let me know CCC's giving had declined through the year and they were making budget cuts across the board. The monthly subscription wrapped at end of year. He was straightforward about the situation and said he'd be in touch for per-project work starting January 1. That's exactly what happened.
The work
The per-project phase has been steady. A Summer Kickoff package refresh in April 2025 (bathroom sign, postcard front and back, event slide, all dated for June 1). A Costume Sunday postcard date update in July 2025. A 2025 update to a partner-churches graphic in November 2025, adding Anthology Charles Town, WV to the list. A logo recreation for a partner church app in April 2026, which we priced at $100 because the only file Adam had was a low-res raster and the logo needed to be rebuilt as a vector.
The work that comes through most often is print. Postcards mailed to the community for big Sunday pushes (Christmas, Summer Kickoff, Costume Sunday, Corn Maze Night). The brand fonts are usually Gill Sans and Adobe Garamond Pro.
A specific moment
The 2024 Christmas mailer was a good example of how the CCC process moves. Adam sent a raw picture of a dog in a holiday hat on November 19, with the dimensions (6x4 double-sided postcard) and a couple of font directions he'd been considering. I sent two layout options the same day. The next morning he picked option one and asked for three tweaks: center the front text down a little, change a parenthetical to say "optional," and adjust a line break on the back. I sent the print-ready PDFs the next day. From brief to print files in about 48 hours, with one revision round in between. That's the cadence Adam tends to work in, and it's why the relationship has stayed easy across both phases of the engagement.
In their words
"These are great! We're going with option 1." — Adam Hawkey, Executive Minister, November 20, 2024
Where things stand
CCC is active as a per-project client. The most recent thread in my inbox is from May 14, 2026, with Adam confirming an invoice payment. The April 2026 logo recreation for the partner church app was the last design project before that. Per-project work suits both sides at this point, and the door stays open for the next round whenever a Sunday push or a new initiative needs it.
Selected work
Finished pieces from the Community Christian Church engagement are being added to the site. In the meantime, the full portfolio shows the range of sermon series, announcements, social, signage, and branding work.
